General:

The Pocahontas FFA Chapter Competes at District Contest this week at ASU Jonesboro on Wednesday of this week please wish them luck as they try an qualify for state competition.

The Crowley's Ridge Classic Livestock Show will take place March 10th-11th FFA members will be competing on Friday and Saturday of this week please wish them luck.
NJHS new member dues WILL NOT be accepted after Friday, March 10.

Driver's Education Class Sign ups - Students must have a Driver's Permit in order to take the class. Only 9 seats available. First come/first serve. Must have $200.00 check (check can be dated May 25th) to place name on list and Driver's Permit. Sign up in PJHS Office. Classes will be May 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st and June 1st. (8:00 - 5:00 p.m. )

9th Annual Jammin' In the Jungle Basketball Tournament - March 31st - April 1st. Sponsored by: Pocahontas Project Graduation 2017. Entry Fee: $110 Entry Deadline: March 20th

Wednesday will be competition day for the "hands-on typing" FBLA events. I need the following students excused at 1:00 and all of 6th hour:

NJHS new member dues are due by March 10. The dues are $20.

Upcoming Events:

March 12th: Daylight Saving Time Begins - Spring ahead.

March 13th: Starburst NIGHT performance will beMonday March 13th6-9pm @ M.D. Williams Gym. Cost for admission the show is $2 for students and $4 for adults.

March 14th: Starburst Performance - PJHS- students will attend Starburst at 1 pm. Admission is $1

March 15th: 9th Grade - College Day at BRTC.

March 15th: FFA Officer Applications will be available on March 15th and must be turned in by March 31st.

March 16th - March Band Concert @ 6:30 p.m. (PJHS gym)

March 16th: Pocahontas Public Schools will conduct parent/teacher conferences for students, in grades K-6 only, on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Parents are encouraged to meet with their child's teacher(s) between the hours of 3:30 p.m. through 7:30 p.m.

Because of the conferences, school will be dismissed early for all students on Thursday, march 16, 2017. Alma Spikes Elementary walkers will be dismissed at 1:55 p.m and bus students at 2:10 p.m. All other students in grades 3-12 will be dismissed at 2:25 p.m. Lunches will be served. Classes will resume on the regular schedule Friday, March 17, 2017.

March 18th: The Pocahontas FFA Spring Livestock Show will take place March 18th at the Randolph County Fairgrounds starting a 11 AM.

March 20th - 24th: Spring Break

April 14th: Good Friday - No School

April 14th: FFA Banquet will be May 4th and the cost will be one dollar to come to banquet and must be paid by April 14th so we can get a head count of who will be attending the Pocahontas FFA Banquet.
