Redskin Academy will be CLOSED on Thursday, September 18th for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Right now, 71% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. If we can reach 76%, our district will lock in free meals for ALL students — regardless of income — for the rest of the school year.
Even if you think you don’t qualify, we encourage every family to fill out the Free & Reduced Meal Application. There are multiple ways to qualify — and every application counts toward our goal. Completing the form doesn’t just help your family — it helps all students in our district and unlocks funding for programs, technology, and more.
Apply today — it only takes a few minutes:
Complete your application here 👈
Let’s do this together, Pocahontas families! Every form brings us closer!

Mrs. Crawford’s class brought the spirit at our first school pep rally! From cheering loud to showing off their Redskin pride, these students had an amazing time celebrating together. We love seeing our students come together to build school spirit and make memories. Way to go, Mrs. Crawford’s class! 👏🎉

This week, Pocahontas School District students and staff successfully completed bus evacuation drills with the support of Black River Technical College. We’re proud of our students, staff, and transportation team for their teamwork and focus on safety. A special thank-you also goes to our local safety agencies for assisting with these important drills and for their continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
As part of our planning, we want to remind families that if an emergency ever required us to relocate students, our official Parent/Student Reunification Site is:
Black River Technical College Randolph County Development Center Lobby – 1410 Hwy 304 East
Parents and guardians would be directed to this site for a safe and orderly student pick-up. Thank you to everyone who helps us make safety a top priority at PSD!

Fall Picture Day is Thursday, October 2nd!! This event's Order Code is 0258NGF

🚨 Safety Starts Early! 🚨
Our Pocahontas Elementary students and staff did an outstanding job during this week’s safety drills. At this age, practicing routines and procedures is so important—and our teachers, staff, and bus drivers showed patience, guidance, and leadership every step of the way. Thank you to our local law enforcement and safety partners for helping us at PES. Your support keeps our youngest Redskins safe!❤️🖤

Starting Monday, we will engage in a bus evacuation and reunification drill for all students and staff. This drill requires relocating students off campus to a safe location. We will have buses transporting students from campus to BRTC mid-morning several days next week. We are sharing this information so all members of our community are aware that this is a planned and coordinated drill and there is no real emergency. As always, thank you for your support.

Updated September Lunch Menu
