The big day is almost here! As we welcome our students back to Pocahontas School District tomorrow, here are a few housekeeping reminders to help everyone start the year off smoothly:
🚗 Horseshoe Traffic Flow at M.D. Williams
Please take a moment to review the attached traffic flow graphic before morning drop-off. We appreciate everyone's patience, especially during these first few days as we get back into the routine.
📵 Bell-to-Bell, No Cell
Please remember that students should come prepared to follow the Bell-to-Bell, No Cell requirements throughout the school day. Personal electronic devices should be put away from the first bell to the last.
🍎 Meal Applications
Every family still needs to complete a meal application for this school year. Applications can be completed online at **ezmealapp.com** or paper applications are available at each building office. These applications are important in helping our district maintain Provision 2.

New state guidelines now require all incoming kindergarten students to complete a kindergarten screening **within the first 30 days of school**. This is different from previous years, when screenings were scheduled before the first day of school.

This achievement helps ensure every student has access to nutritious meals each school day while providing meaningful support to families across our district. Families will still be asked to complete a meal application, as these applications are critical to supporting district funding and the long-term success of the program.
That commitment to serving our community extends well beyond the school year. This summer, our Child Nutrition Department provided 9,873 meals to children throughout our community during 28 days of service, including 4,681 breakfasts and 5,192 lunches. On average, the team served approximately 353 meals each day, ensuring children continued to have access to healthy, nutritious meals while school was out of session.
These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our Child Nutrition Department. Thank you to our cafeteria staff for the care you show our students and community each and every day.
