Today was a truly unforgettable day at PES as we had the incredible honor of helping grant a wish for one of our very own, Lyla Anglin. 💙 With the help of the Make-A-Wish team, our staff, and students, the campus came together to celebrate Lyla in a big way—filled with smiles, excitement, and so much love. Moments like these remind us just how special our school community is and the power of coming together to make dreams come true. Thank you to everyone who helped make today so meaningful for Lyla and her family. It’s a day we’ll never forget. ✨

Join us for the Pocahontas Elementary Art Show on Saturday, May 16th from 8 AM – 3 PM! Our talented students have been hard at work, and every student will have a piece on display! Come celebrate their creativity and see the amazing artwork they’ve created this year! 📍 Located in the PES Cafeteria We can’t wait to see you there!

Our 2nd graders are gearing up to start ATLAS testing tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more proud of how hard they’ve been working! 💪 They’ve put in the time, learned so much, and now it’s their moment to show what they know. We know they’re going to do amazing! 📝 Get a good night’s sleep 🍳 Eat a healthy breakfast ⏰ Be on time and ready to go Let’s cheer them on as they give it their best—because that’s what matters most!

NHS Toy Drive for St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Our National Honor Society is currently hosting a toy drive to support the patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital! We are accepting new gift donations through Friday, April 24, and our NHS officers will personally deliver the items on April 29.

To ensure all donations meet hospital guidelines:
✔️ No liquids or items with batteries
✔️ No soft or plush toys (for sanitation purposes)

Donations can be dropped off at any building office or turned in to Mr. or Mrs. Murray. Thank you for helping our students make a meaningful impact for children in need!

The Pine Tree bus will be double-routed and will run 30-35 minutes late this afternoon. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to work through the continual driver shortage.

Kindergarten Registration may have started yesterday—but it’s not too late! 🎒✨ If you missed it, no worries at all! You can still come by the school during regular school hours to get your child registered for kindergarten. We’re here and happy to help every step of the way! We can’t wait to welcome our newest students and families! ❤️📚

Mrs. Roberts’ 3rd grade class is putting their understanding of figurative language to work. Students used idioms in sentences and illustrated what those phrases would look like if taken literally.

It’s that time—ATLAS testing is right around the corner, and we are READY! Our students and teachers have been putting in the work, and now it’s time to show what we know. Let’s bring the energy, the confidence, and the focus! A few quick tips for success: ✅ Get a good night’s sleep ✅ Eat a healthy breakfast ✅ Arrive on time (every day matters!) ✅ Take your time and do your best ✅ Stay positive—you’ve got this! Parents, your support makes a HUGE difference—help us make sure students are present, prepared, and encouraged each day.
