Based on the predicted forecast for Tuesday, February 18th, PSD will be prepared for an early release, if necessary. Times set forth for an early release will be determined by the hourly forecast tomorrow to ensure all students and staff are able to get home safely. Attention Redskin Academy Afterschool Parents
Just a friendly reminder that Monday, February 17th will be NO SCHOOL due to Professional Development for staff. School will resume back on Tuesday, February 18th.
Attention Parents: PES would like to remind you of the NO GIFT DELIVERY policy for today. Parking and entry for Kindergarten and 1st grade will be on the west side of the building which is normally the designated bus area. 2nd and 3rd grade visitors will enter the east side of the building directly facing car drop off. Be sure to check the lost and found items while you are here!

Attention Parents: Just a friendly reminder that we will not accept any gift deliveries on Valentine's Day during school hours. Classroom party supplies is the only delivery accepted that day.
There will be NO Redskin Academy today Thursday, February 6th.
Thank you to the Pocahontas Elementary school counselors for providing so much support to our students and staff. They both are constantly on the job and are both determined to suggest the best course of action for individual students. Their hard work and hard decisions never go unnoticed.

Redskin Academy Afterschool will be closed Thursday, February 6th. Letters went home with students this afternoon and will be sent next week as well so parents are aware and have ample time to make other arrangements.
With Valentine's Day celebrations just around the corner, we'd like to remind our families that the Pocahontas School District has a no delivery policy on February 14th. While we understand that families and friends get excited to show their students a little extra love on this special day, we ask that you allow this celebration to occur outside of the school day. These deliveries not only disrupt the function of our main offices, but also the academic day of our students and can also cause potential safety hazards during transportation time.
Our character trait for the month of January was Resilience. Today we had an assembly honoring those students nominated by their teachers as well as teachers nominated by their peers. Congratulations to all that were nominated.

Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, February 4th! Students will only get their picture made if you have prepaid for the pictures. Order forms have been sent home or you may pre-pay online with the information given on the flyer.
Thank you to all that donated to our Special Education Department. Our building raised the most money, therefore Mr. Carter had to take the ice plunge.
