The Deer bus is currently at a stand-still as there is a tree across the road and it cannot get around it. Emergency personnel have been alerted and are actively trying to get the tree removed. Students on this route will be late getting to their drop off locations.

Arrival still begins at 7:15 on the East side of the building-Car Drop off. the duty staff will open the East doors at this time. Students will need to wait in their cars until then.
Anyone arriving after 7:50 will bring your child to the front door and check them in through the office. (Do not send a student through the front door alone.)
The First Day of School Tradition!!!! On the first day of school each year, parents are allowed to walk their child to their classroom. This will start at 7:30 to allow the staff to report as normal.
Please refer to the parking map that was shared earlier. Students with parent escorts will enter through the East wings (2nd and 3rd grade halls) or the front door.

Incoming kindergarten students will be assessed on Wednesday, August 6th. Please bring your child to the Pocahontas Elementary building between 8:30 and 11:30. Parents will be placed in the gym during this time. Students do not need to bring supplies on this day.

The summer goes by fast and it will soon be time for school to start. To assist families in our community, the 15th annual Backpack 2 School will be Saturday, July 26th from 8:00 am to Noon. With the help of volunteers and donations from local businesses, churches and organizations there will be free school supplies and backpacks. Services will also include haircuts and eye exams free of charge as well as getting them up to date on school vaccinations. (You must bring your child's shot record this day)

Pocahontas Elementary is proud to welcome three new teachers joining the building next year. Grace O'Donnell and Daija Williford will be in third grade while Ashten Sutton is taking a second grade classroom.
